ASABA/Nigeria: A socio political group known as Anioma Youth Mandate, AYM, have raised alarm over plots by some forces and highly placed Politicians outside Delta North Senatorial District to frustrate the newly established Federal Polytechnic Kwale and ensure it is removed from Kwale and cited in Orogun in Delta Central Senatorial District.
The group noted that the move to raise such alarm has become pertinent to inform the general public and Anioma sons and daughters to enable them rise and ensure that such political rascality is nipped in the bud.
In a press statement issued by the group in Asaba on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, and signed by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Kwale, they warned that any of such moves will be totally resisted.
The statement read in part, “We have uncovered desperate moves by some of our brothers who seem not happy that a Federal citadel of learning will be cited outside their own Senatorial district have put in motion machinery that will ensure that it is moved away from its originally proposed location which is Kwale in Ndokwa West local government area, Delta state. The proposed Federal Polytechnic Kwale was amongst the ten Higher Institutions approved by a bill of the National Assembly on the 28th of November 2018 but is yet to be assented into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.
” We want to appeal to anyone who in whatever guise is tempted or attempting to truncate or halt the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic Kwale, to please stop forthwith as we will leave no stone unturned in resisting any plot in such direction”.
The group further appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR to urgently sign the bill into law and bring to an end any of such unholy moves. They noted that the establishment of such Federal institution will not only attract massive development to the Ndokwa Federal constituency but will above all fast track and boost the development of the human capital potential that abound in the region and state in general.
AYM used the opportunity to thank the Delta North representatives in both chambers of the National Assembly for ensuring that the bill scaled through all the hurdles till this final stage.
