The Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) has commenced thorough repairs of the Ashaka-Kwale road which was put in a very bad shape by the massive 2012 floods. The expressway which was constructed by the state government and commissioned by President Obasanjo in April 2005 is the only good road leading to Ndokwa-East. The well-constructed road, however, got badly damaged when it was submerged and subjected to high water waves for almost a month when the unprecedented floods of last year hit the area which made travelling on the road a risky activity. But motorcyclists, car owners and other road users are now heaving a sigh of relief due to the nylon-tar looks the road is wearing.
