ASABA/Nigeria: The Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Communication, Dr. (Barr.) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe has rejected the recent appointment which named him as the Chairman of the board of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, (NITT).
The appearance of his name was one of the many controversies that trailed the release of the names of more than 2000 persons announced recently into different federal government ministries and agencies as board members.
In a release, which he captioned “Call to serve Nigeria versus morality, good conscience and loyalty. …I stay with Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa, Esiso and the PDP”, said he left the All Progressive Congress, APC, not because of bad treatment from the erstwhile governorship candidate of the party, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, but because of internal squabbles within the leadership of the party.
“I left Olorogun Emerhor and APC in pains considering the acute internal squabbles that the leadership of the party ignored to handle as required. The fellow that championed the problems said unprintable things including that I was paid to do my job as Emerhor’s media consultant”.
He said that he did not leave the party because of material wealth, but was frustrated out.
“I did not leave my formal principal, Olorogun Otega Emerhor and the APC because of money and material wealth. I was actually frustrated out of the party by acute and vicious political detractors. The rest is now history”.
On the federal appointment, he said he had made wide consultaions, and it was agreed that it was a call to serve Nigeria but event has overtaking the appointment, especially it is to political affiliation and loyalty to a party.
“We all agreed that it is a call to serve Nigeria but event has overtaken the appointment; because it is closely tied to Political affiliation and loyalty to party. The appointment fails on moral ground and has become repugnant to equity and good conscience”.
While thanking the President Mohammed Buhari, Olorogun Emerhor, and the Chairman of APC in Delta State, he reviewed that the appointment is juicy, he believe that such opportunity will again show up in the near future.
“I respectfully …thank the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari for appointing me as Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, Zaria. However, I wish to inform Mr President that I am now a strong member of the PDP and Executive Aide to the Smart Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa. Therefore, this appointment came rather too late”.
“I humbly decline the appointment and/or nomination on grounds of morality, good conscience and equity. I hope to serve Nigeria, in the near future”.
“As for Olorogun Otega Emerhor, you have demonstrated that you are a good leader who cares for the advancement of his loyalists via this appointment and several others”.
