Former Deputy Speaker Congratulates PDP and Governor Oborevwori on Delta Electoral Tribunal Victory
ASABA/Nigeria: Former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ochor Christopher Ochor, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, for their resounding victory at the Delta Electoral Tribunal.
In a statement issued September 29, 2023, Hon. Ochor expressed his enthusiasm for the tribunal’s verdict, which not only reaffirmed Governor Oborevwori’s mandate but also cemented the PDP’s status as the ruling party in Delta State.

Ochor commended the tribunal for its impartiality, highlighting the absence of election-related incidents, except those initiated by opposition candidates, including Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Mr. Ken Pela of the Labour Party. He asserted that this underscored the legitimacy of the election.
Furthermore, Hon. Ochor emphasized the enduring prominence of the PDP in Delta State, applauding it as a household name known for consistently delivering effective governance without the hardships created at the federal level by Nigerians in every state. He praised the party’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of Delta State residents and asserted that their victory at the electoral tribunal testified to the trust and support they had garnered from the people.
“The PDP, our great party, is a household name in the state. Our candidate is a grassroots politician. And the triple victory in one day shows and confirms what the electorate did on March 18, 2923. They voted for PDP. They voted for our choice, the people’s choice, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. The Tribunal had spoken,” he emphasized.
In celebrating this victory, Hon. Ochor Christopher Ochor conveyed his warm congratulations to the PDP family in Delta State, particularly praising the amiable Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, for this well-deserved victory at the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
“The outcome confirms what was already known, that Governor Oborevwori indeed stands as the undisputed leader of Delta State,” he stated.
