PORT HARCOURT/Nigeria: Former Chief Medical Director of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), Prof. Friday Enwumelu Aaron, has been elevated to the rank of Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Rivers State University Medical School, a milestone that has attracted commendation from the management of the teaching hospital.
Reacting to the development, the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chizindu Alikor, described the promotion as a fitting recognition of Prof. Aaron’s longstanding contributions to orthopaedic surgery, medical education, research and healthcare administration.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the management and staff of RSUTH, Alikor said the elevation reflects years of professional excellence, dedication to scholarship and commitment to improving healthcare delivery through teaching, clinical practice and mentorship.
He noted that Prof. Aaron has built a distinguished career as an orthopaedic surgeon, educator and administrator, adding that his impact on the growth of the Rivers State University Medical School and the teaching hospital remains significant.
The Chief Medical Director also acknowledged Aaron’s tenure as Chief Medical Director of RSUTH, saying his leadership contributed to the institution’s development and strengthened its capacity for quality healthcare services, medical training and institutional advancement.
According to Alikor, the conferment of a professorship on Aaron is not only a personal accomplishment but also a source of pride for the Rivers State University Medical School, the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital and the wider medical profession.
