Former SDP Governorship Candidate’s Allegations Against Judiciary Condemned by Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor

ASABA/Nigeria: The Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor, Dr. Wilfred Oghenesivbe Esq, has strongly criticized the disparaging comments made by Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, the former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

The Executive Assistant made the condemnation in a press statement obtained by Ndokwa Reporters, released following remarks made by Gbagi that targeted Tribunal Judges and Appeal Court justices.

The statement, which was released in Asaba on Saturday, condemned the lack of substantial evidence to support Gbagi’s allegations, emphasizing the crucial requirement of proof in criminal jurisprudence.

He specifically noted Gbagi’s failure to meet this standard during the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, a decision subsequently upheld by the Court of Appeal.

Describing Gbagi’s recent press briefing in Warri as unbecoming of a legal practitioner and former Chairman of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Oghenesivbe labeled Gbagi’s words as those of a “broken record,” citing the absence of substance in his claims and predicting his anticipated failure at the Supreme Court.

Oghenesivbe underscored the gravity of Gbagi’s allegations against the judiciary, highlighting their severe criminal implications and suggesting that Gbagi could face legal consequences. He criticized Gbagi’s behavior, asserting that it lacked decorum and leadership qualities, factors that contributed to his rejection by Deltans during the polls.

Regarding Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s position on the matter, Oghenesivbe stated that the Governor remained steadfast in governing and fulfilling promises to the people, dismissing Gbagi’s statements as inconsequential.

He urged Deltans to disregard Gbagi’s remarks, labeling them as mere political bitterness without substance. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to good governance and expressed confidence in the judiciary’s previous rulings in favor of Governor Oborevwori and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), portraying it as a testament to the government’s dedication and resilience.

The firm condemnation of Gbagi’s allegations by the Executive Assistant signifies a resolute stance against baseless attacks on the judiciary while reaffirming faith in the legal process and the administration’s determination to continue governing effectively.
