ABUJA/Nigeria: In a remarkable recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of media and communication strategy, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, the Spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections in Delta State, has received a prestigious nomination for the “Doctor of Philosophy in Media and Communication Strategy (Honoris Causa)” by Prowess University, located in Delaware, United States of America.
The nomination was conveyed to Dr. Oghenesivbe by Prof. Eze C. Nwauba, the African Representative of Prowess University, in a letter dated September 22. This recognition, according to the university, is a testament to Dr. Oghenesivbe’s extensive academic qualifications and over two decades of professional experience in various fields, including Public and International Affairs, Law, Political Science, Mass Communication, Information and Strategy Management.
In a statement, the governing council of Prowess University, in collaboration with the Institute of Arts Management and Professional Studies (IAMPS), expressed their delight in nominating Dr. Oghenesivbe for this honorary doctoral award. He is notably the first media executive and professional in Nigeria to receive such recognition in this category, following a rigorous evaluation of his academic credentials, exceptional public service, work experience, publications, and adherence to the university’s stringent criteria.
The letter further acknowledged Dr. Oghenesivbe’s pivotal role in organizing the annual Delta State Communication Workshop, where he facilitated the training of 650 media professionals over the past six years. This workshop has significantly contributed to the enhancement of knowledge in the fields of journalism and communication arts, and it is anticipated that he will continue to uphold this standard in the future.
The official presentation of the Prowess University certificate will be conducted by Prof. Eze C. Nwauba during the Leadership Summit, Induction, and Awards event organized by the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM).
