GBARAMATUVOICE 5TH ANNIVERSARY: Wike, Okowa, Jega, Sylva to Attend Event

WARRI/Nigeria: The Much expected Gbaramatu Voice 5th Anniversary, which had for the past four years had showcased the culture, tradition, political and economic development of the people of Ijaw ethnic nationality is now officially confirmed to hold in September 29 and 30, 2020.

In a Press Statement, signed Jacob Abai, Publisher, GbaramatuVoice Newspapers, and made available to this medium, the anniversary is expected to take place in the prestigious Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt, with a Lecture and Award.

According to the press statement, the lecture series for the 2020 edition will centre on the theme: Security, Peace and Development in the Niger Delta, and will centre on critical new research areas as sustainable development goals in the Niger Delta, to be handled by the Rivers State Gov. Barr. Nyesom Wike , former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Atahiru Jega, as Keynote Speaker/Chief Host and speaker respectively.

It further stated that the occasion will be His Excellency, Chief Timipre Sylva, Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, will be the Chairman of the event, while it has Senators Ifeanyi Okowa and Douye Diri, Executive Governors of Delta and Bayelsa States will be Special Guests of Honor.

Other speakers expected at the Lecture/Award giving event earlier planned for Wednesday, 12th and Thursday, 13th of August 2020, but has to be necessarily shifted owing to national/sub national protocol on COVID-19, include but not limited to; Jeffrey Ewing, MD, Chevron Nigeria Limited; Prof. Tosan Harriman, (CODESRIA) and Alexander Sewell, Senior Project Manager, Stakeholders Democratic Network, UK.

The 5th Anniversary will be hosted by the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro.
