ASABA/Nigeria: The Healthy Real Initiative for Valued Entrepreneurship, THRive, in the spirit of the 2022 International Day of the Girl Child, had admonished parents and guidance seriously, and never in any way neglect they’re growing up.
THRive, a non-governmental organization stated this in a press statement to mark the day in a statement signed by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli in Asaba.
In the statement, the organisation said that the Theme of the 2022 anniversary, “Our Time is Now – Our Rights, Our Future”, is one that speaks to the present situation in the country.
It pointed out that the theme is very timely, especially in a country like Nigeria, where some nonstate elements are fighting against the education of the girl child, calling on parents, guidance, and all stakeholders to do everything possible to ward off such attitude.
“As Parents, Guidance, and Stakeholders, we should not allow certain practices that are now being preached to survive, our girls need training, they need proper education.”
“May we remind all, that no nation, can develop, without giving the two-sex equal access to tools of education. Education is their right to take, and it’s their future, and there is no better time to take it, than now.” He stated.
