Global Transport Policy (GTP) Ltd. Advocates Sustainable Transport Blueprint to Drive Nigeria’s Economic Growth

LAGOS/Nigeria: In a bid to bolster Nigeria’s economic development through enhanced transportation infrastructure, the Global Transport Policy (GTP) Ltd., a prominent communication outfit, has underscored the imperative of a sustainable conversation. Dr. Oluwasegun Musa, Chairman/Chief Consultant of Global Transport Policy, emphasized this during a media conference held on Thursday in Lagos.

Musa emphasized the pivotal role of a sustainable blueprint for transport infrastructure in facilitating the seamless movement of people, goods, and ideas across borders. He highlighted that such a blueprint would empower states to foster comprehensive transport growth, thereby catalyzing economic impact through strategic collaborations aimed at reinforcing national advancement.

“Each state possesses untapped potential that should be identified and harnessed to attract investments,” Musa remarked, emphasizing the need for proactive measures in leveraging these opportunities.

Musa further disclosed that the upcoming GTP annual roundtable, slated for April 24, would unveil critical components of the transport industry as prime enablers for rapid growth. The event will feature high-profile dignitaries including the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Lagos State Governor, and several ministers overseeing transport-related portfolios.

Dr. Alban Igwe, a seasoned global transport specialist, is set to deliver the keynote presentation, shaping the discourse around the theme “Transport Infrastructure and Strategic Policy Intervention: Building Blocks for Economic Growth.” The event will also host panel sessions involving key government agencies and international diplomats, focusing on topics such as intermodal transport and policy trends in developed nations.

Highlighting the significance of the occasion, Musa emphasized that the conference would mark the official launch of the Global Transport Policy Magazine, a bilingual publication aimed at providing authoritative insights and analysis to aid in policy formulation.

Dr. Igwe reiterated the importance of sustainable conversations coupled with strategic actions to unlock Nigeria’s transport industry potential. He emphasized the need for collective efforts in overcoming existing challenges and fostering growth in the sector.

“We must view ourselves as problem solvers and discard pessimism about the efficacy of our endeavors. By realigning our efforts, we can tap into the vast potential of the sector,” Igwe remarked, underlining the necessity of proactive engagement for tangible outcomes.
