Gov Okowa Gets Commendation For Building Befitting Secretariat For Workers In Delta

ASABA/Nigeria: The Governor of Delta State has been commended for living up to his promise on the delivery of a brand-new secretariat with state-of-the-art facilities for civil servants in the state.

The Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr Mordi Ononye, gave the commendation in Asaba during an interactive meeting he convened for members of staff of the ministry as they moved into the new secretariat complex.

The commissioner charged the staff to reciprocate the good gesture of the governor by taking advantage of the good working environment by increasing their productivity.

He also commended the officers who had been putting in their best in the discharge of their duties in the ministry and assured them that management was working out a reward package for them before the close of the year.

The commissioner also said that management was not unaware of the yuletide season and assured that welfare packages would be made available to staff to enable them celebrate the Yuletide.

He pleaded with the staff to maintain the facilities provided by the state government at the new secretariat complex, adding that they should show good example by keeping the environment clean because of the importance of cleanliness to good health.

A team of consultants led by Architect Chike took out time to take the officers through how they were to use the infrastructure, and other office equipment provided.

In a vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary, Dr Ejiro Ogheneaga, on behalf of the staff, thanked Governor Okowa for the provision of such an edifice for civil servants and promised to reciprocate the gesture by putting more efforts towards the realisation of the Stronger Delta vision of the state government.
