Gov Okowa tasks ACPGA to Maintain Peace in Their Domains.

KWALE/Nigeria: Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has tasked President-Generals in Delta North to maintain peace in their various communities noting that they have the herculean task of ensuring that the people in their domain live in peace and tranquillity so as to enable development to take place,

Gov. Okowa stated this during the monthly meeting of the Anioma Communities President-General’s Association ACPGA, held in Kwale Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State.

Represented by his Senior Political Adviser, Chief Festus Ochonogor said he is very happy to identify with ACPGA and the role the association is playing in their various communities by making peace strive in their domain.

“As we in the capital city of Asaba putting things together to achieve good governance, you are at your various communities maintaining peace and organizing people, we are so proud of you. We are very optimistic of your importance to us, the relationship this government have with this association will not end but it will continues, so that the SMART Agenda policy of this government will be achieved.”

“I encourage you not to relent in discharging of your profound responsibilities and your good romance with the traditional institutions of the various communities should be cordial. It is very important most especially this era of elections.”

Speaking further on how peace can be sustained in Anioma communities, he noted that the people have to work together, speak with one voice as regard to the second tenure ambition of our governor; working together will move the state forward. The governor recognized the ACPGA and I am looking forward to having a meeting with the governor.

The Chairman of the association, Hon Justice S.A Ehiwario rtd,  thanked the governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for identifying with them, adding that victory is sure for him. He however, stated that the constituted bodies supervises the day to day activities of each various communities in ensuring peace in Anioma kingdom.

On his part, Prince Igwe Nzekwe, the Chairman constitution drafting committee who is also leader of all the President-Generals in Ndokwa nation, pointed out that the ACPGA, was founded to act as a bridge between all the Anioma Communities, noting that the main task of the association is to work for the reelection of governor Ifeanyi Okowa in 2019.

Nzekwe, Vice Chairman of ACPGA said governor Okowa has tried but he should remember Ndokwa east riverine areas, who have suffered long neglects as there was no basic facilities in the areas.

He pointed out that the entire communities of Abala, Utchi, Lagos-Iyede, Iyede-Ame, Onyia Umu-Olu, Adiai are completely cut off, no road, no electricity,  no water, no health care facilities, our women travel with boat to Anambra state to deliver.

Continuing; ” We are calling on government to come to our aide, NDDC, DESOPADEC and the Ministry of Niger Delta have have not affected us in anyway. The free maternal health care of the state government is not presence in riverine areas.”

He added that the Anioma Communities should be united and work collectively to ensure that they speak with one voice on critical issues that affect them especially as 2019 general elections draws nearer, maintaining that the association will mobilize their communities to vote massively for governor Okowa for him to complete his second term like the former governors of the state.

The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the association constitution by Prince Igwe Nzekwe, the Chairman of of the constitution drafting committee.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the association Hon Justice Ehiwario rtd, directed every member to study the constitution clause by clause and return with their reports, adding that  final decision on the constitution will be taken in the next meeting.
