UYO/Nigeria: Governor Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State expressed his gratitude to God for his successful election and subsequent inauguration. During a special thanksgiving service marking the beginning of his administration alongside Senator Akon Eyakenyi, he referred to Psalm 124, acknowledging that without the Lord on his side, his vision and aspirations would have been hindered when faced with opposition.
Governor Eno, who is ordained as a minister of God, rededicated the state to the divine and emphasized that God would be at the forefront of the new administration. He explained that he would fulfill his roles as both a Priest and a King, interchangeably applying them as necessary throughout his tenure.
The Governor recognized and thanked God for the smooth and peaceful electoral process, as well as the transition to his administration. He also expressed gratitude for the individuals who supported his vision, even those who initially opposed it. He called upon all Akwa Ibomites, regardless of their political affiliations, to join hands in fostering peace and development in the state, stating that the era of politics has concluded and a season of prosperity has begun. Governor Eno assured that the new administration would accommodate everyone, as the state is large enough for all.
Furthermore, he extended appreciation to his predecessor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, and his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Martha, for their unwavering support. Governor Eno vowed to work diligently to ensure that the confidence placed in him would result in substantial democratic dividends for the people of Akwa Ibom State.
The event was well-attended and featured renowned gospel singers from Akwa Ibom, such as Bobby Friga and Aity Dennis. Additionally, members of the political class, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Fathers in Faith, and many others were present to witness the inauguration and offer their support.
