Asaba: The Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, has disclosed that the government printing press in his ministry will be upgraded to enable it compete favourably with any other printing press in the area.
Mr. Ukah stated this when he visited the printing press to see machines on the ground on Monday, October 24, 2016.
The Information Commissioner, who was conducted round by the Director in charge of the printing press, Mr. Lucky Omokri, ordered that a viability analysis of the printing press be submitted to his office to guide his decision.
He told workers of the department to be up and doing in the discharge of their official duties, urging them to cultivate maintenance culture.
Mr. Ukah directed that some of the machines be properly covered to avoid further deterioration and challenged the workers to keep their offices and environment clean always.
Mr. Omokri, while conducting the Information Commissioner round, revealed that some of the machines were in good shape, adding that others need different forms of repairs to become operational.
He assured the commissioner of the ability of the department to generate revenue for the state if the machines were put in good working conditions.
