ASABA/Nigeria: The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, has expressed the government’s commitment to partnering with philanthropists engaged in development programs
The Deputy Governor stated this during a visit, led by Chief Christopher Iwere, the Odogwu of Abala Kingdom in Ndokwa East Local Government Area, aimed to discuss the state’s progress and development goals.
Emphasizing the administration’s focus on expediting the state’s development, Deputy Governor Onyeme stated, “This government is a listening government; we will partner with philanthropists, those who are working for the good of our people, for our people, Deltans to have the full benefits of democratic government.” He further pledged to address the challenges faced by the people and assured that the government would strive to do its best within the available resources.
Recognizing Chief Iwere’s contributions to the development of his community, Deputy Governor Onyeme asserted, “The government will apply larger parts of our resources to the development of our people.” This statement underscores the government’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare and progress of the citizens.
During the visit, Chief Sunny Okiah, speaking on behalf of Chief Iwere, conveyed the unwavering support and cooperation of the entire Abala Kingdom towards the government led by Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. Congratulating Deputy Governor Onyeme on his successful inauguration and assumption of office, Chief Okiah declared, “I wish to assure you of the unalloyed support and cooperation of the people of Abala Kingdom to the current administration of the state.”
The event was witnessed by notable personalities such as Hon. Charles Emetulu, the member representing Ndokwa West Constituency at the Delta State House of Assembly, and Sir Christopher Osakwe, the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Government House in Asaba.
