AGBOR/Nigeria: In a significant call to action, stakeholders gathered in Agbor, the administrative headquarters of Ika South local government area of Delta State, over the weekend, emphasizing the crucial role of government in fostering a conducive environment for private sector businesses and industrialization to flourish.

This call was particularly highlighted during the commissioning of a high-capacity table water factory, “I and O Table Water.”

Dr. Julius Isitor, the traditional ruler of Ottah-Igbanke in Orhionmwon local government area of Edo State, who was the chairman of  the ceremony, urged the Federal Government to implement credible economic policies that would boost private sector participation in the nation’s economic development.

He stressed the urgency of addressing issues such as poor power supply, insurgency, and insecurity, asserting that the resolution of these challenges is paramount for the realization of private sector potential in driving economic growth.

The monarch underscored the indispensable role of the private sector in a nation’s economic progress and called upon Nigerians, especially the youth, to invest domestically. Dr. Isitor expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, stating, “There will be light at the end of the tunnel; there is hope for Nigeria and Nigerians.”

Commending the M.O.R.E agenda of the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the traditional ruler lauded the initiative of Mr. Friday Ogorchukwu, Chairman and Managing Director of I and O Table Water, for establishing the factory in the region.

He described the move as a commendable example of economic diversification that contributes positively to the nation’s well-being.

Mr. Ogorchukwu, an Automobile Technician turned entrepreneur, shared his vision for I and O Table Water, stating that the factory is a response to the need for job creation and a reduction in the unemployment rate in the State.

He emphasized the company’s commitment to “Customer satisfaction, quality preservation, and employment generation” as core principles driving its operations.

As the private sector continues to play a pivotal role in national development, the collective plea from stakeholders is for government intervention to pave the way for sustained economic growth through initiatives like I and O Table Water.
