OMOKU/Nigeria: Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering on promises and prioritizing the development needs of the people. Speaking at the commissioning of the dualised Omoku-Egbema road project at Masters Junction, Obrikom road, Omoku on Saturday, Governor Fubara emphasized that his government would only undertake projects it can complete on schedule, aligning with the administration’s “Rivers First” philosophy.
Addressing Rivers stakeholders, Governor Fubara stated, “We are here to tell our people today that they are very important to us. We are here to assure you that every part of this state will have a positive feel of our administration.” He highlighted the dualised Omoku-Egbema road project as a testament to his administration’s ability to accomplish what previous governments deemed impossible.

The governor assured the completion of the remaining 300 meters of the road connecting Rivers State to Imo State and announced that work would resume at the abandoned Zonal Hospital in Omoku within a week. He expressed gratitude for the public’s support during and after the elections, committing to further development projects in the area.
Former Governor of Rivers State, Sir Dr. Peter Odili, who commissioned the road, praised Governor Fubara’s dedication to the people. “Governor Siminalayi Fubara is a humble man of God whose life reflects the fear of God,” Dr. Odili said. “He has demonstrated uncommon love for the people of Onelga and has earned their unalloyed support.”
Dr. Odili commended the governor for his people-focused governance and assured continued support from the Rivers populace. “Though the next election is far, with what the governor has done for the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area, he is guaranteed of the people’s support at all times,” he added.
Engr. Atamea Briggs, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, provided details on the road project, thanking Governor Fubara for prioritizing the people’s interests. “The 23-kilometer dual carriage road, costing N13,071,483,375.53, has been fully paid for and will significantly benefit the local community in advancing their businesses and social integration,” Briggs stated.
Michael Issa, Area Manager of Setraco Nigeria Limited, commended the state government for the opportunity to contribute to the road infrastructure. He pledged the company’s continued support for future projects.
In a welcome address, Dr. Shedrack Akaloku congratulated Governor Fubara on his first year in office despite challenges. He highlighted the governor’s commitment to the “Rivers First” mantra and called for additional projects across the local government area, emphasizing the need to complete the road link to Imo State.
