Governor Oborevwori Commited to Connect Rural Communities with Durable Roads, Aiming for 130km Milestone Ahead of First Year Anniversary

ONICHA-UGBO/Nigeria: Delta State’s Commissioner for Works (Rural and Riverine Roads), Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has reaffirmed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the socio-economic well-being of rural residents through the strategic development of durable road networks.

Aniagwu articulated this dedication following an inspection tour of the ongoing construction of Jolly Avenue in Onicha-Ugbo, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state. He highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s resolute determination to deliver no fewer than 130 kilometers of roads across the state before marking his first year in office.

“With the mandate of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, we are witnessing exceptional progress on this road, and I must express my satisfaction with the pace of work observed during our visit,” Aniagwu stated, underscoring the governor’s strong resolve to establish enduring road connections in rural regions statewide.

Emphasizing the governor’s belief in the transformative power of robust road infrastructure, Aniagwu elucidated, “Governor Oborevwori firmly believes that establishing high-quality roadways linking remote communities will significantly enhance the socio-economic development of our people.”

The commissioner elaborated on the state government’s strategic approach, stating, “Leveraging the dry season, we are expeditiously working on numerous roads across the state. Our target is to ensure that no less than 130 kilometers of roads are completed and prepared for inauguration ahead of Governor Oborevwori’s first anniversary in office.”

Aniagwu further stressed the imperative of ensuring superior quality in the execution of these projects, directing both the contractor and the supervising engineers in the ministry to uphold meticulous standards. “I have emphasized to the contractor and our engineering team the importance of delivering exceptional workmanship that reflects our appreciation for the unwavering support of the people towards the government over the years,” he affirmed.
