ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Muslims in Delta State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, the governor urged followers of Islam to emulate the selflessness of Prophet Mohammed.
“Eid-el-Kabir is a time of sacrifice, love, harmony, and family. I urge all Nigerians, regardless of faith or ethnicity, to uphold peaceful coexistence and mutual care,” Governor Oborevwori stated.
He emphasized the importance of continued prayers for the nation’s progress and peace. The governor assured that security agencies in Delta State are fully prepared to ensure a peaceful Sallah celebration.
Governor Oborevwori also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with the Muslim community to advance the state’s development. “On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters across the country on the 2024 Eid-el-Kabir,” he said.
“This celebration should prompt us to reflect and pray for our nation to overcome its challenges. As we strive to strengthen our administration, let’s live in harmony and cooperate with all levels of government,” he added.
Governor Oborevwori concluded by urging everyone to be their brother’s keeper, promoting peaceful coexistence among people of different tribes and religious beliefs.
