ASABA/Nigeria: In an impressive display of leadership, Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has not only lived up to his election promises but has gone above and beyond to fast-track mega infrastructure development across the state’s three senatorial districts.
The Executive Assistant on Orientation and Communications to the Governor, Dr Latimore Oghenesivbe, highlighted the governor’s proactive approach, stating that Oborevwori took the driver’s seat from day one, leveraging his pre-governorship experience to propel the state’s overall development.
Speaking on Delta Television’s Morning Ride live public affairs program, Dr Oghenesivbe emphasized the governor’s commitment to solid road infrastructure, considering its pivotal role in socioeconomic transformation.
He revealed that the recently launched N78 billion flyovers, road expansions, overleaf, and pedestrian bridge projects awarded to construction giant Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, are poised to boost economic activities and ensure smooth traffic flow in the respective areas.
Dr Oghenesivbe commended Governor Oborevwori’s inclusive approach, citing his detribalized nature and equitable distribution of projects, resources, and political appointments within seven months of assuming office. “The governor’s strategic allocation of projects and transparent governance style has endeared him to the hearts of Deltans, fostering a sense of transparency, equity, and fairness across the state.” he said
Acknowledging the diligence of the Honourable Commissioners for Works; Rural and Urban, Hon Reuben Izeze and Mr. Charles Aniagwu, Dr Oghenesivbe applauded their commitment to quality project supervision and delivery, in line with the governor’s directives.
As the governor’s ‘MORE’ agenda continues to unfold, Dr Oghenesivbe assured Deltans that they will experience the positive impact of visionary leadership and good governance. On the prudent management of state resources, he highlighted the administration’s commitment to fiscal discipline, accountability, and careful scrutiny of financial transactions to ensure value for money.
Dr Oghenesivbe declared, “Seven months gone in this administration, and I am pleased to inform Deltans that our indefatigable governor, Rt Hon Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, has performed creditably well, and his good governance strides shall be sustained till May 29, 2031, by the grace of God.”
He went on to laud the unprecedented efforts of construction giant Julius Berger Nigeria Plc in executing mega flyovers projects and highlighted ongoing dualization projects, including the Ughelli-Ozoro-Asaba roads.
The governor’s patriotic spirit and visionary leadership were evident in the palliative work along the Abraka-Obiaruku-Umutu federal roads axis, showcasing his commitment to improving travel experiences for citizens.
Dr Oghenesivbe assured Deltans that Governor Oborevwori remains focused on completing inherited projects, initiating new ones, and delivering on the promises encapsulated in the Governor’s MORE agenda. With an eagle eye for fiscal responsibility, the governor’s administration is steering Delta State towards comprehensive development and the dividends of democracy.
