ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, on the occasion of the third anniversary of his coronation.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, Governor Oborevwori commended the Olu for his steadfast leadership and his efforts in fostering peaceful coexistence within the Warri Kingdom since ascending the ancient throne.
The governor highlighted the monarch’s pivotal role in the economic revival of the kingdom over the past three years, describing Atuwatse III as “a man of peace, a bridge-builder, and a leader of profound integrity.” He acknowledged the positive transformations taking place under the Olu’s reign and urged the people of the Iwere nation to continue supporting their king for the greater good of the kingdom.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I warmly congratulate His Majesty, the Olu of Warri, Atuwatse III, CFR, on the occasion of his 3rd coronation anniversary,” Oborevwori said. “I join the people of the Itsekiri nation in honouring a great king and in wishing him strength, health, and wisdom as he continues to provide traditional and cultural leadership for his people.”
Governor Oborevwori praised the Olu’s leadership, noting that in his three years on the throne, Atuwatse III has led with distinction, upholding the law and serving as an inspiration not only to the Itsekiri people but to all Deltans and Nigerians. He also lauded the monarch’s efforts in preserving the culture and traditions of the Iwere people, promoting social harmony, cultural collaboration, and peaceful coexistence among the Itsekiri and other ethnic groups in the state.
“I must applaud his leadership skill in maintaining and overseeing the Iwere people’s culture and traditions by encouraging concord, socio-cultural collaboration, communal living, and peaceful coexistence between the Itsekiri and other ethnic groups in the state,” the governor stated.
