ASABA/Nigeria: Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has presented a list of nominees for appointments into the Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and Delta State Post Primary Education Board (PPEB).
This crucial step in shaping the education landscape was communicated via a letter read during Wednesday’s plenary session of the State Assembly by Speaker Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor.
The nominees, carefully selected for these positions, present a mix of expertise and experience. Hon Samuel Mariere stands nominated for the chairmanship of the Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), with Chukwuemeka Uwadia, Onome Akpoghere, and Josephine Edjeren as appointed members.
Additionally, Dr. Emmanuel Tibi, Venture Oyibororo, an engineer, Eunice Angozi, and Fidelis Okorafor have been named as potential members of the Delta State Post Primary Education Board (PPEB), with Dr. Emmanuel Tibi proposed for the chairmanship.
Governor Oborevwori, in the letter presented to the Assembly, urged for expedited consideration of his request for the screening of the nominees and their subsequent confirmation for the appointments.
Following the reception of this letter, Speaker Emomotimi Guwor directed the nominees to submit 35 copies of their Curriculum Vitae to the office of the Clerk no later than Monday, December 18. Furthermore, they are expected to appear for screening on Tuesday, December 19.
This move signifies a critical phase in the state’s education governance, aiming to ensure competent leadership and a comprehensive approach to the enhancement of both primary and post-primary education sectors in Delta State.
