Governor Oborevwori Urges Nigerians to Embrace Unity and Sacrifice

ASABA/Nigeria: As Christians worldwide celebrate Easter, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on Deltans and Nigerians at large to exhibit love and be willing to make sacrifices for the greater unity, peace, and progress of the country.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori urged citizens to use the Easter season for sober reflection, emphasizing the importance of peaceful co-existence and a shared vision for a better future.

“As Christians, we must reflect on the essence of Easter in our interactions, not only with fellow Christians but also with people of different faiths,” the Governor remarked. He emphasized the need to shun bitterness and violence, highlighting that national progress and security depend on peaceful coexistence.

Governor Oborevwori urged Nigerians to let the spirit of Easter guide their relationships, advocating for tolerance and understanding across religious lines. He emphasized that fostering peaceful coexistence would mitigate challenges such as banditry, herdsmen attacks, and kidnapping.

Calling on Christians to apply the Easter message of love, peace, justice, sacrifice, and kindness in their daily lives, Governor Oborevwori stressed that these values would contribute to enhanced unity and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.

“The essence of Easter is to reaffirm our beliefs. Christians must uphold the principles of honesty, fairness, integrity, accountability, compassion, selflessness, and the pursuit of the common good,” he added.

Governor Oborevwori reassured Deltans of his administration’s commitment to security and urged citizens to embrace unity and sacrifice for the nation’s progress.
