Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda: Delivering Tangible Projects – Works Commissioner

AGBOR/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Works, Highways and Urban Roads, Comrade Reuben Izeze, has affirmed that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda goes beyond a mere slogan, emphasizing its role as a comprehensive work plan aimed at bringing tangible and people-oriented projects to the people of Delta State.

Izeze made these remarks during an inspection of the project sites managed by CCECC NIG LIMITED, the contractor overseeing the construction of drainage channels linking Owa-Alero, Owa-Alizomor, and Owa-Odie to Iyi-Amah Stream in Ika North East Local Government Area.

The project includes a 6,020m channel with an open channel size of 1,220Lm, sewer channel size of 1,550Lm, sewer channel size of 3,250Lm, double-cell box culvert of 52Lm, pavement length of 875m, and an average pavement width of 7m.

Expressing satisfaction with the project’s progress, the Commissioner commended the contractor and urged them to maintain the current work pace. He reiterated Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to completing all inherited projects from the previous administration.

“Governor Oborevwori, a prudent manager of resources, ensures that contractors are well-funded to fulfill their contractual obligations. Our administration cannot afford to witness project abandonment in the state. The Governor is poised to inaugurate numerous completed projects within his first year in office, fulfilling his commitment to meaningful development for Deltans.”

Izeze emphasized that the MORE Agenda is not just a slogan but a meticulously planned work strategy aimed at delivering more tangible and people-oriented projects to the citizens of Delta State.

Impressed with the ongoing work, Izeze stated, “The project site is well-planned, and all engineering principles are being observed. The concrete slabs are solid and will stand the test of time. These drainage channels will also help mitigate erosion, addressing a longstanding concern for the community and its neighbors.”

The Works Commissioner was guided through the site by the contractor, who expressed readiness to complete the project within three months. The contractor assured that all precast work is 100% completed, and by May, all components will be assembled, constituting less than 28% of the overall project.
