ASABA/Nigeria: As Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori marks his first 100 days in office as the Governor of Delta State, the Integrity Group, known as the MORE Ambassadors, has lauded his administration for its impactful policy direction and strategic implementations.
Governor Oborevwori, who ascended to power with the MORE Agenda, has undertaken significant measures to ensure that the people of Delta State reap the full benefits of democracy. In a comprehensive assessment of his administration’s first 100 days, the Integrity Group, tasked with promoting Oborevwori’s agenda, outlined the achievements achieved in this short span.
Speaking to journalists, Dr. Oke Idawene, the Convener of the Integrity Group, provided an insightful analysis of Governor Oborevwori’s administration during the initial 100 days. Dr. Idawene highlighted the administration’s remarkable commitment to the welfare of the state’s workforce.
In alignment with his campaign promises encapsulated in the MORE Agenda, Dr. Idawene emphasized that Governor Oborevwori has faithfully fulfilled his commitment to improve the standards of the state’s workforce. Notably, the governor has already initiated the payment of promotion arrears, totaling about N5 billion, to state civil servants, disbursing them in batches.
The Convener of the Integrity Group also underscored the governor’s dedication to all categories of workers in the state. He pointed out that within this period, Governor Oborevwori has approved the payment of all pending pensions arrears and other benefits to local government retirees.
“This is in addition to the approval for the employment of teaching and non-teaching staff in primary schools across the state. This is unprecedented, no doubt,” Idawene added.
Turning to infrastructure development, Dr. Idawene elucidated that several projects are set for commissioning, including administrative and educational buildings at Denis Osadebay University, Asaba, the State High Court Complex, 16km of internal roads and drainages in Madonna Road area, and the Okpanam – Ibusa Road, spanning Oshimili South and Oshimili North Local Government Areas.
Furthermore, Governor Oborevwori’s administration has brought relief to Warri residents with approvals for the reconstruction of critical roads and the supply of transformers to bolster electricity supply in the area. The standout project is the 26.21 km Trans Warri – Ode Itsekiri bridges and access roads, accompanied by extensive drainages. Several other infrastructure projects in Warri and Uvwie are also underway, including stormwater drainage initiatives.
In the Ughelli axis, a 5.40 km bridge across Orere River, along with access roads and spurs in Orere town, and the Comrade Izeze Boulevard in Oginibo are progressing. In Isoko South, Phase II of the Okpolo/Enwhe/Uhweru Road, linking to the East-West Road, has been completed, with Phases 1 and 3 nearing completion.
Projects in Governor Oborevwori’s home Okpe LGA, including the construction and rehabilitation of Ugolo Okpe/Okorikpehre Road and Otevwe Ochuko/Omo Obiyan/Iyamu streets in Okuokoko, are also contributing to Delta State’s development.
Dr. Idawene emphasized that these ongoing projects across all local government areas of the state demonstrate that Delta State is in capable hands, underscoring the need to support Governor Oborevwori’s administration.
“We now have M O R E Infrastructures, M O R E Human Capital Development, M O R E Secured Delta State, M O R E Agricultural Products and FOOD In Delta State, M O R E Growth And Development, and M O R E Peace In Delta State; all achieved in just 100 days,” he declared.
As Governor Oborevwori’s tenure progresses, the people of Delta State eagerly anticipate further positive transformations under his leadership.
