AWKA/Nigeria: Dr. Nonye Soludo, wife of the Anambra State Governor, has granted a full scholarship to eight-year-old Chukwuemeka Nwuzor, a mathematics genius, covering his education from primary school through to a master’s degree.
Dr. Soludo made this announcement during a meeting with Chukwuemeka and his family at the Governor’s Lodge in Awka on Wednesday.
Chukwuemeka recently gained attention through an online video showcasing his ability to solve complex mathematical problems, including advanced formulas and numerical equations.
“I learned that the boy in the video was from Nibo community in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra, and I immediately launched a search and soon found his family,” Dr. Soludo said.
“To test his talent, I brought a calculator close and asked him different mathematical questions, formulas, equations, and structures; and he answered all correctly.”
Dr. Soludo emphasized that the scholarship aims to ensure Chukwuemeka receives the best education possible, from primary school to any level he desires.
“This is why I resolved to sponsor the boy’s education from his present primary school class to any level of his choice and also build mentorship around him to help him reach his full potential. Chukwuemeka’s breed is rare among mankind, and I promise to give him all the support that he needs to grow,” she stated.
The Governor’s wife also advised Chukwuemeka’s parents not to pressure him into skipping grades despite his remarkable abilities. “The boy should be allowed to go through the single grade level in one academic year to make him walk at a pace that grows his talent better,” she added.
Dr. Soludo’s commitment ensures that Chukwuemeka will have the opportunity to develop his extraordinary mathematical skills with the support and guidance necessary to achieve his full potential.
