ASABA/Nigeria: The Chairman of Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency (DSPHCDA) and Executive Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on PHC, Dr Isioma Okobah has commended the Minister of Health Dr. Osagie Ehanire and the Executive Director/ CEO of National Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Faisal Shuaib for organizing a world class Primary Health Care Summit tagged “Re-Imagining PHC”.
Describing the just concluded summit held in Abuja as educative, ‘refreshing and apt, Dr. Okobah said that the summit was very timely to salvage the decaying state of the PHC.
“I must commend the leaders of Health care in Nigeria especially the Hon. Minister of Health and the ED/CEO of NPHCDA for this bold step towards restoring the image of Primary Health Care.
“PHC is the bedrock of Healthcare delivery, if we don’t get PHC functioning our health system is in jeopardy,” she stated,
She promised to use the knowledge garnered at the summit to improve PHC in Delta State.
“Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is very passionate about primary health care by providing the needed structure. We have capable workforce that with little push can excel. My team and I will immediately swing into action and produce an effective blueprint that will transform our PHC,” Okobah added.
