Grand Wedding Celebration Unites Two Cultures as Solomon Okala Dickson Ties the Knot with Nneoma Igwe in Makurdi

MAKURDI/Nigeria: The city of Makurdi was immersed in a festive atmosphere over the weekend as Solomon Okala Dickson, younger brother of New Nigerian Newspapers’ Online Editor, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, exchanged vows with his beloved, Nneoma Igwe.

The celebrations, which spanned several days, culminated in a beautiful ceremony at the Presbyterian Church in Makurdi, where the couple was joined in matrimony on Saturday, April 13, 2024. The event was graced by nine esteemed men of God, led by Rt. Reverend Uma Uma Okorie (JP), who bestowed their blessings upon the newlyweds.

Preceding the church ceremony, a traditional marriage ceremony took place at the residence of late Engineer Isong Igwe and Mrs. Theresa Igwe, showcasing a vibrant blend of Northern and Southern Nigerian cultures. This cultural extravaganza was a testament to the rich heritage shared by the couple’s families.

The wedding reception, held at the Sheraton Hotel in Makurdi, was a grand affair attended by numerous dignitaries, including the President of Northern States Christian Elders Forum (NOSCEF), Engineer Oyinehi Ejoga Inalegwu, who presided over the event as chairman.

The reception was further electrified by the surprise arrival of Isaac, the patriarch of the late Chief Dickson family, who flew in from abroad after 14 years, much to the delight of the guests.

The union of Solomon and Nneoma not only marked the beginning of their journey together but also symbolized the coming together of two families and cultures in a celebration of love and unity.
