OKPANAM/Nigeria: The need for unity and peaceful coexistence among various tribes living together in a particular area for the purpose of the growth and development of any society has been stressed.
The chairman of Erhuvwu Urhobo Union in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government of the state, Mr. Anthony Oyovwona disclosed this during their end of year celebration.
Oyovwona, who said that the core objective of the Union was to promote the spirit of togetherness among indigenes of Urhobo and identify with members at all times whenever the need arose, lauded the people of the community for their disposition towards visitors residing in the community.
In their separate remarks, the pioneer chairman of the Union in Okpanam, Mr. Augustine Akoh and the chairlady, Mrs. Benedicta Jonathan said that it was a thing of joy to celebrate their end of year celebration.
While saying that the Union was established in the community six years ago to promote love among members, Mr. Akoh called on other individuals of Urhobo origin to identify with the Union.
