ASABA/Nigeria: A group known as Society Movement For Good Governance SMFGG, has said one of the attributes that can never be taken away from the former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, is forgiveness, describing him as a man of big heart.

SMFGG, National Coordinator, Deacon Victor Egwuenu noted in a press statement made available to our correspondent’s in Asaba, the Delta State Capital, that Uduaghan is always forgiving to a fault while some people take it as a weakness.

While calling on the people of Delta South Senatorial district of the state, to give maximum support for the senatorial ambition of Dr. Uduaghan because they stand the chance of reaping more the dividends of democracy, the group said former Governor Uduaghan is a man of impeccable character.

“Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan became Governor of Delta State on the 29th of May, 2007. His tenure was a very challenging one right from inception of office till the end of his tenure. His great achievement was in the areas of health, education, infrastructural development, security proved him as a great, determined, focused and goal oriented leader.” He added.

SMFGG pointed out that Uduaghan was the most distracted, persecuted and most humiliated Governor of Delta in the history of the state but was most successful.

Continuing; “Uduaghan fought to maintain peace despite the unprovoked attacks on his people by the neighbouring communities in June 2013, but he refused take side. Instead he sued for peaceful coexistence of all the communities. He put up a peaceful approach to reach out to his adversaries. The EPZ ground breaking ceremony would have turned Delta State into a theatre of war if not that Uduaghan is peace loving.

In the build up to 2015 general elections, Uduaghan jettison his senatorial ambition so as peace can reign. For many other politicians bloodshed is preferable than relinquishing their political ambition.
