Guwor Advocates Unified Effort for State’s Progress at PDP Meeting

WARRI/Nigeria: Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, has advocated for enhanced unity among Deltans to foster increased peace and development within the state. Speaking at a meeting with leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Warri South West local government area, Guwor highlighted the ongoing progress of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE agenda, expressing confidence in 2024 witnessing substantial socio-economic growth and political stability.

Affirming the government’s commitment to extending development to the most remote areas, Guwor stressed the vital role of public support in attaining these ambitious objectives. Emphasizing the Assembly’s dedication to collaborating with other governmental branches for sustainable advancement, he underscored the importance of unity to propel progress.

Guwor directed his message to the residents of Warri South West, urging a focus on unity and progress while discouraging actions that could foster disunity within the constituency. Acknowledging the support received during and after the 2023 general elections, he solicited further cooperation, love, prayers, and understanding to effectively fulfill his duties.

Expressing gratitude to the PDP leaders in Warri South West for their commitment to the party’s success in the region, Guwor credited their efforts for his victory in the 2023 House of Assembly election. He clarified that this triumph not only secured his second term in the esteemed chamber but also led to his appointment as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria.

“I commend our party leaders for their pivotal roles in my electoral success. Please convey my appreciation to PDP members and supporters across the ten wards and various communities in Warri South West,” Guwor stated, emphasizing plans for personal visits to express gratitude and bolster party politics and democratic governance within the local government.

Moreover, leaders of the PDP in Warri South West echoed their congratulations for Guwor’s ascension as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, pledging unwavering support for his tenure. Notable figures such as Chief Favour Izuokumor, Chairman of PDP Warri South West, Mr Taiye Duke Tuoyo, Chairman of Warri South West Local Government Council, former Commissioners Chief Frank Omare and Mofe Pirah, former State Assembly representative Dr Patrick Fregene, Chief Boroh Opuduh, and Chief Vero Tamgbowei all encouraged collaboration to strengthen the PDP in Warri South West and urged Guwor to champion his constituency’s interests.

The well-attended gathering encompassed PDP leaders from Warri South West, including ward councillors and party executives, held at the Speaker’s private residence in Warri.
