Guwor Appoints Nkem Nwaeke as Chief Press Secretary …Emphasizes Qualifications and Experience

ASABA/Nigeria: In a decisive move during Tuesday’s Plenary, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, formally announced the appointment of Mr. Nkem Nwaeke as his Chief Press Secretary, effective immediately.

Expressing his rationale behind the appointment, Speaker Guwor highlighted the careful consideration that preceded the decision, emphasizing Nwaeke’s extensive expertise in the media landscape. He lauded Nwaeke as a “media guru who knows his onions,” emphasizing his commitment, dedication, and hard work as distinguishing qualities.

Guwor, in a subsequent meeting with Assembly correspondents during a thank-you visit to his office, elaborated on the meticulous approach taken in the selection process, stating, “You will recall that I took time in coming up with this decision. The reason for the delay is to avoid making mistakes. Mr. Nkem Nwaeke is indeed a committed, dedicated, and hardworking journalist.”

Nwaeke, prior to assuming this new role, served as the Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Warri correspondent in the State House of Assembly for nearly two decades. His wealth of experience includes roles as an Assistant-General Manager at DBS Warri and former secretary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) DBS Warri chapel. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Mass Communication from Delta State University, Abraka, and has demonstrated his commitment to journalistic excellence throughout his career.

With an impressive track record that includes various professional roles and community engagements, Nwaeke brings a wealth of experience to his new position. His qualifications span from his early education at Auchi Polytechnic Auchi to his extensive work experiences, including serving as a former Assistant Secretary at NUJ, Delta State Council, and as the Pioneer Government House Correspondent at DBS Warri.

Moreover, Nwaeke’s accolades for community service, including a yet-to-be-celebrated chieftaincy title bestowed upon him by HRM Obi Albert Iyeke I I, the Obi of Igbodo kingdom in Ika North East local government area of Delta State, underscore his dedication to both professional excellence and community development.

Notably, he is a devoted family man, married with three children and fostering several others, demonstrating a commitment to not just professional endeavors but also to nurturing and supporting the broader community.
