ASABA/Nigeria: The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has called on the newly sworn-in Commissioners and Special Advisers to commit to ensuring that Delta State reaches its full potential.
In a statement released following the successful inauguration of the six Commissioners and six Special Advisers by Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Rt. Hon. Guwor emphasized the significance of their appointments. “Their selection is a testament to their expertise, experience, and dedication to public service,” he remarked.
Although he could not attend the ceremony held at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, due to unavoidable circumstances, the Speaker extended his congratulations to the newly appointed officials, describing their positions as well-deserved.
The Speaker urged the new appointees to diligently implement Governor Oborevwori’s vision and policies. “The MORE agenda of Rt. Hon. Oborevwori is achievable with determination and the support of all critical stakeholders,” Guwor noted.
He highlighted the necessity of collaboration and synergy between the state Legislature, other arms of government, and the newly appointed officials. “It’s crucial for them to foster a cooperative relationship to drive the state’s development agenda,” he said.
Guwor also called on the appointees to prioritize the welfare and development of the people, stressing the importance of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in their decision-making processes. He advised them to consistently engage with stakeholders for the overall benefit of the state.
“Once again, I congratulate the new appointees, including Commissioners and Special Advisers, on their successful swearing-in. I charge them to uphold the principles of good governance, integrity, and excellence,” Guwor stated.
He expressed his eagerness for their support towards the legislative agenda of the 8th Assembly and their collaboration in passing more people-oriented bills for the peace and good governance of the state. “The people expect nothing but the best from them,” Guwor concluded.
