Guwor Expresses Grief Over Fatal Boat Accident in Warri South-West

ASABA/Nigeria: The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has expressed profound sorrow over a devastating boat mishap that occurred on Friday, November 22, 2024, along the Bennett Island River in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The tragic incident, which claimed the lives of five individuals and left several others injured, unfolded while the Speaker was en route to Asaba via Warri after engaging with constituents earlier that day. Miraculously, Mr Guwor survived the ordeal, though deeply shaken by the loss of life and the harrowing experience.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, the Speaker extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, acknowledging the profound pain they must be enduring. “My heart goes out to the families of the deceased, and I pray that God grants them the strength to bear these irreparable losses,” he said.

The Speaker, still grappling with the shock of the incident, commended the swift actions of the rescue team and medical personnel, whose efforts undoubtedly mitigated further tragedy. He expressed gratitude for his survival and for the lives of those who made it through the incident.
