ASABA/Nigeria: The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has paid a condolence visit on Tuesday to Chief Godswill Obielum following the demise of his mother, Mrs Victoria Ossai Obielum.
During the visit, the Speaker expressed his sorrow over the news of Mrs. Obielum’s passing. He conveyed his condolences to Chief Obielum, a Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, and to the entire Obielum family.
Accompanied by the Deputy Majority Whip of the House, Hon Prince Emeka Osamuta, and the member representing Ika Northeast constituency, Hon Marylyn Okowa-Daramola, Rt Hon Guwor encouraged Chief Obielum to take solace in the fact that his mother lived a fulfilled life.
“It is always painful to lose a loved one who has made so many positive impacts,” Rt Hon Guwor said. He prayed for God to grant the late matriarch of the Obielum family a peaceful rest.
On behalf of his family and the entire Delta State House of Assembly, the Speaker also prayed for God to give Chief Obielum and other relatives the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss.
“I have come to commiserate with you on the transition to eternal glory of your beloved mother. Though painful, she died at a very ripe age,” Guwor stated. “As a mother, you will surely miss her. However, I join others in thanking God for her life and urge you and your siblings to take heart as Mama lived a fulfilled life. May her gentle soul rest in the bosom of our Lord.”
In response, Chief Obielum thanked the Speaker for the visit. “It gladdens my heart to receive you in my residence in Asaba,” he said. “Mr. Speaker, I appreciate your coming, humility, and words of encouragement.”
