Hard Times Waits Criminals, Cultists In Sapele Says Security Agencies/Community Leaders

SAPELE/Nigeria: Hard times awaits criminals, cultists in Sapele local government area as security agents including community leaders poised to put an end to their activities in the area through a collaborated synergy to ensure the community is safe for its citizens.
The Deputy Commander, vigilante of Nigeria (VGN) Mr. Asini Sunday, who addressed journalists in Sapele soon after making announcement throughout Sapele metropolis and its adjoining villages, says “we were directed to tell the bad boys to stop their criminal activities or face the law if arrested”.
“On our decisions (Security) and the community leaders to flush out all bad elements from the community, this action becomes necessary due to the prevailing crime rates in the Local government area which was once very peaceful”. He said.
Commander Asini explained further that “Mr. Olokpa Harrison, Ovwore Community President and Mr. Goddey Okpako, Amukpe District President in conjunction with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) after a security meeting with the Duke of Amukpe agreed that we should go round the community to announce to bad boys in the area such as
Cultists, robbers, buglers kidnappers out of the community or face their wrath”.
Mr. Asini who also doubled as the Deputy Commander Sapele vigilante zone 1, said anyone caught fighting with dangerous arms, will be arrested and prosecuted in the law court just as he advised parents and guidance to advise their children and wards to desist from crimes and never to follow bad gangs that could possibly put them into
trouble.
Mr. Harrison Olokpa, Ovwore Community President said “ as leaders we cannot keep our hands folded while our youths are drifting into crimes on  daily basics thereby jeopardizing the peace of the law abiding citizens, hence we are taking this decision that criminals must leave us alone”.
Sapele residents who spoke with journalists applauded the efforts of the Community leaders and the security agencies in their unalloyed effort in stemming the tide of crimes, pledging to lend their support to their activities by getting the criminals arrested.
The Sapele Divisional Police Officer Mr Ekong, could not be reached on phone to comment on the situation of crime in the area but a source close to the police maintained that the Sapele police and other sister agencies are equal to the task of flushing out all criminal element from the local government area and it environs.
