WARRI/Nigeria: Primary school head teachers in public schools under eagis of Association of Primary Head Teachers of Nigeria (AOPSHON) have appealed for the provision of teaching aids.
This was contained in the goodwill message of the chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area chapter of the association Vivian Edede at a meeting of Forum of Chief Inspectors of Education, Delta State in Warri recently.
She complained of inadequate or poor supply of teaching aids, school registers and dairies.
Edede also complained of inadequate or teaching, non teaching staffs and delay in the release of examination grants.
“Let me use this opportunity to ask for extension of primary six enrollment. Sir, if all the items enumerated above are forwarded to the ministry of basic education, we will have a formidable environment and good learning facilities. We shall be grateful if our demands are met,” she said.
In a related development, principals of public secondary schools under the aegis of All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) Warri South Local Government Area Chapter, have called for a stronger collaboration between them and chief Inspectors of education (CIE).
The Chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area Chapter of ANCOPSS, Comrade Felix Useh made the call in his goodwill message during the meeting of Forum of Chief Inspectors of Education Delta State in Warri recently.
He reasoned that such collaboration could lead to development of advice for schools’ actions that schools will need to ensure continuity in children’ s learning.
He added, saying: ” This highly placed body of Chief Inspectors of Education can use the information so gathered to refine the ministry’ s guidance to school in achieving quality assurance by building on collaborative working with stakeholders in the system.”
