UBULU-UKU/Nigeria: Heavy downpour witnessed in parts of Delta State on Friday, September 25, 2020 has wreaked havoc in Obulu-Okiti, an agrarian community in Aniocha South Local Government Area.
Our correspondent reported the downpour which lasted for several hours, flooded most of the roads in the town, making it difficult and dangerous for resident to venture out.
It was observed that the flood affected several buildings thereby sacking some individuals from their homes rendered most of the roads in the town impassable.
The situation, it was further gathered collapsed all forms of economic activities in the aggrarian community that depends solely on their farm produce for daily sustenance.
As a consequence, shop owners, street trades and artisans were also affected by the flood which ravaged the town for over five hours.
Meanwhile, youths in in town have mobilized to ensure that visitors going through the town move freely by diverting motorists and other road users to bypass the dangerous areas to avoid loss of lives and property of road.
They however, appealed to both the local and state government to come to their aid by constructing roads and drains in the community to forestall, what they referred to as perennial flooding in the community.
