Herdsmen Menace: We Don’t Have Plot Of Land For Any Colony, DTSG Declares

ASABA/Nigeria: Following the recent happenings and attacks between suspected Fulani herdsmen and farmers across different parts of the country the Delta State Government has declared that the state government has no plot of land for any land colony for any group of people in the state.

The Delta state government made the declaration Tuesday January 23, at Indigenous Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Asaba, through the Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Mr. Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu.

Mr. Aniagwu who was responding to issues at a media parley with the Indigenous Correspondents Chapel of the state NUJ, said anybody who wants to do any business should go and buy land for such, adding that Delta state government won’t allow any land colony in the state.

The CPS to Governor Okowa harped on the visit to the Indigenous Correspondents Chapel to assure them of regular interface in making sure they are carried along adequately on the activities of the state government.

He explained that the state government under Dr. Ifeanyi Ikowa is doing a lot in infrastructural development, human capital development, healthcare among others.

According to him the YAGEP, STEP and other programs executed by Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa administration have empowered thousands of people in the state, noting that road construction work are ongoing across the three senatorial districts of the state with various projects at various level of completion.

The Delta state Governor’s mouth piece further quipped that the Asaba city stadia may be commissioned at the fifth month of 2018   by the state governor, Dr. Okowa.

The Indigenous Correspondents Chapel Chairman, Comrade Barth Ozah lauded Dr. Okowa CPS, Mr. Aniagwu for the media parley and for his most professional discharge of his duties and responsibility, while also assuring of adequate reportage of the state government activities appealed for continuous state government collaboration at all times and the continuous development of the state.
