HERDSMEN MENANCE: Delta Ask Citizens to Be Patience

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Government have called on various communities in the state to be patient as they are working on modalities  to finding a permanent solution to the herdsmen menace.
The government stated this through The Special Adviser to the Delta State governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor.

Uzor gave the advice recently during a one-day meeting with the leadership of nomadic Fulani’s and selected farmer communities towards peaceful coexistence in Delta State, at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.
“It is not an issue that the government can resolve overnight,” Uzor said.
According to him, there was no serious resolution to bringing everlasting peace to the communities, as he urged the elders of nomadic Fulani’s to assist the state government in monitoring those infiltrators, with a view to check their menace.
He disclosed that, the state government cannot approve vigilant group for them, explaining that their sincerity was still very much unknown to the government.
“We need to understand them fully before their request can be granted,” he said.
Uzor encouraged the nomadic Fulani leaders to always safeguard the bush with their wards while searching for other means of securing everlasting peace in Delta Communities.
The special adviser admonished the Fulanis leaders to always attend meetings in their various communities, so as to be able to know the way forward in ensuring there is peace.
