ABUJA/Nigeria: The Chairman House Committee on Treaties, Protocols and Agreements, representing Ndokwa/ Ukwuani Federal Constituency, Delta State, Rt. Hon. Ossai Nicholas Ossai., has described the rude death of the Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, and ten others in a plane crash on Friday evening in Kaduna as sad and devastating.
Hon. Ossai Ossai said the death of the Army Chief and other gallant officers in his crew was regrettable and a huge national blow, especially at a time that the military was brazing up for a tact solutions to the menace of insecurity and centrifugal challenges in the country.
The Ndokwa Representative noted that “the Late Army Chief was a gallant, brilliant and professional officer who was always willing to cooperate with the directives of the Chief of Defense Staff as well as a committed team player who worked hard to overcome the usual interagency rivalry that impeded the war against insurgency in the past.”
“The world, Africa, Nigeria and indeed the Nigerian military, has witnessed an irreparable loss of a fine and committed officer with demonstrable zest and proven results that will be missed by all.”
“I commiserate with the immediate family, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, the Nigerian Military over this unfortunate loss. May the souls of the departed and others find rest in the Lord. Amen.”
