EVWRENI/Nigeria: In a deeply touching event filled with love, faith, and a strong sense of community, Miss Oghenemise Mariere, the daughter of the former lawmaker Hon. Samuel Mariere, embarked on her marital journey alongside Mr. Lucky Ekierovie in a ceremony, which took place at St. Paul Anglican Church in Evwreni.
Honorable Samuel Mariere, the joyous father of the bride, expressed deep gratitude to God as he witnessed his firstborn and only daughter’s wedding to a charming young man. He fervently prayed for God’s blessings to empower the newlyweds in creating a joyful and harmonious home together.
The Most Reverend Cyril Odutemu, the Archbishop of Bendel Province of the Anglican Communion, led the sacred union, delivering a touching sermon that emphasized the significance of prayer for husbands.
He declared, “Prayer is key to human existence,” highlighting the vital role of spiritual support in fortifying the bonds of matrimony. He stated that the blessings of a virtuous wife had the power to conquer challenges and deter those who sought to harm marriages.

Acknowledging the inevitable trials that come with every couple’s journey, Archbishop Odutemu stressed the importance of love and tolerance in forging a brighter future together for the glory of God.
He encouraged Oghenemise and Lucky to embrace their new roles as husband and wife while remaining resilient against any forces that might threaten their union.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including former Speaker of the Delta State Assembly Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, former member of the State Assembly George Oyefia, and Acting Chairman of the Delta State Civil Service Commission Mrs. Rosemary Amioku. The grand reception, held at Camp Ambrose’s arena in Evwreni, attracted dignitaries from various sectors of society. The festivities were marked by the traditional cutting of the wedding cake and a joyful dance by the couple, followed by celebratory dances by both the bride and groom’s families. The traditional marriage ceremony, featuring musical performances and comedies, had taken place earlier in the week at the country home of Hon. Samuel Mariere in Evwreni and was attended by Governor Sheriff Oborevrwori and various distinguished guests.
