This assurance was given recently by Executive Director, Social Services Development, (DESOPADEC), Hon Ochor Chris Ochor, when he paid courtesy call on the Ezi of Ezhionum, His Royal Majesty, Evangelist Roland Osawuta, during a working tour of Ukwuani LGA.

Reacting to the plea of the royal father on the need to settle the differences that is dividing the effective running of the body in the state, the Executive Director, stated that with the recent judgment of the court the division among members is over, as the commission will work towards the harmonization of the body, in line with the court judgment.

“Do to the recent court judgment directing the body to harmonize, based on laid down rule, the problem within HOSTCOM will soon be settled”. He said.

Meanwhile, the commission has called on the communities to ensure that projects sited and executed in their areas are protected, and at all time ensure the benefit of siting such projects reaches the people.

Hon Ochor, who was addressing the various communities visited during the inspection of projects, told the communities that leaving the protection of the projects to only the commission and the government will not be good, as government is all inclusive, including the people. He urged them to see that the projects are not vandalized.

“You have to provide that needed community security that will ensure projects are safe, if you are waiting for government and allow any project in your community to be vandalized, the gains expected from such projects will be defeated, you must protect these projects”. He concluded.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Ezi of Ezhionum also called for increase of DESOPADEC presence in Ukwuani, especially on opening of rural roads to boast the economic value of the area.

The Executive Director was accompanied on the tour by staff of the commission, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Engr. Patrick Kaine, HOSTCOM Ukwuani Chairman, Chief Chris Nwajiogoli and other Ukwuani Community Leaders.
