EFFURUN/Nigeria: As former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori marks his 67th birthday, tributes continue to pour in from across the state and beyond, including from Dr. Patrick Ighomrore, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Development, who described Ibori as a quintessential leader and architect of modern Delta.
In a heartfelt birthday message made available to journalists on Monday, Dr. Ighomrore extolled the former governor’s sterling contributions to the growth and development of Delta State, noting that his leadership laid the foundational blueprint for the state’s transformation.
“Chief James Ibori is not just a former governor; he is a symbol of visionary leadership and deep commitment to people-oriented governance. His achievements, particularly in infrastructural expansion, human capital development, and strategic economic planning, remain landmarks that subsequent administrations have continued to build upon,” Dr. Ighomrore stated.
He added that Chief Ibori’s enduring legacy is reflected in the countless Deltans whose lives were uplifted through his policies, programmes, and inclusive governance. “As we celebrate this milestone, we honour a statesman whose courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten in the political and socio-economic history of Delta State.”
