His Royal Majesty Erhiekevwe 1 Pnm, Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom has presented gift items ranging from beverages, toiletries, plastic wardrobes, baby clothings, wrappers, detergents etc to the first babies of the year in Jesse town and Boboruku Village all in Idjerhe Kingdom of Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The wife of the Monarch Queen Elizabeth Otadaferua who presented the items to the parents of the children who are both female at Jesse town and Bororuku unbehalf of her husband said the gesture is their cooperate social responsibility to the people of Idjerhe Kingdom in such a season as this.
The Monarch said he was happy that the children were delivered safely into the New Year without any complications just as he prayed to God to take care of them so that they will in the near future turn to be prominent citizens of the community.
He charged the parents to take care of their children who are the future leaders of tomorrow, pointing out that children are gift from God as parent, who are care takers over these children whom God placed in their possession, should take proper care of them by feeding them very well, give them proper education by all means possible so that by tomorrow they could be well placed.
Comrade Francis Ofomana, the Health Officer at Boboruku Public Health Care Centre who received the wife of the Monarch and her team said the first baby of the year in that health centre came out at exactly 1st of January 2014 at 2.56pm while the one at Jesse town the child of Mr and Mrs Richard Igbedia came out exactly 1.00am, one hour into the new year.
Mr Richard Igbedia the husband to Mrs. Tina Igbedia, the mother of the child in Jesse town who incidentally is a staff at the palace, commended the Monarch for the wonderful gesture while praying for long life and the Wisdom of Solomon for the Monarch to rule his subjects.
He assured the Monarch that they will take proper care of their child and as well put the gift items into proper use for the babies’ upkeep.
