Idumuje PDP Ward 8 Passes Vote of Confidence in Oborevwori, Reaffirms Party’s Dominance in Aniocha North

IDUMUJE-UNOR/Nigeria: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 8, comprising Idumuje Unor, Idumuje Ugboko, and Aniofu, has passed a vote of implicit confidence in Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, commending his humane leadership, promotion of peaceful co-existence, and commitment to sustainable development across Delta State.

The resolution was reached during a stakeholders’ meeting held Friday at Idumuje Unor in Aniocha North Local Government Area, where party leaders reiterated their unwavering support for the governor.

Speaking at the gathering, the leader of Ward 8 and former PDP Chairman of Aniocha North, Ogbuefi Nnamdi Mohanye, hailed the enduring unity among party members, declaring that the ward would remain the epicenter of PDP’s dominance in the local government and beyond.

Also addressing the party faithful, Delta State Commissioner for Special Duties (Government House), Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, assured the people that Governor Oborevwori had the best interests of Ward 8 and the entire state at heart. He urged them to stand resolute in their support for the PDP, emphasizing that the administration would continue delivering democratic dividends through empowerment and social development initiatives.

A motion for a vote of confidence in Governor Oborevwori was moved by Sir Jossy Honnah, Executive Assistant on Special Duties to the Governor, and seconded by Comrade Norbert Chiazor, Executive Assistant on Media to the Governor. The stakeholders upheld that the governor deserved their unwavering support as he continued his administration’s developmental strides ahead of 2027.

The meeting also addressed the recent defection of Senator representing Delta North to the APC, affirming that Ward 8 remains a traditional stronghold of the PDP. Party members expressed confidence that the ward, one of the largest in Aniocha North by voting strength, would maintain its dominant support for the PDP, a legacy dating back to the 1990s.

The stakeholders, numbering over one thousand, reiterated their loyalty to the PDP-led government, while expressing gratitude to the Oborevwori administration for appointing and electing several Idumuje indigenes into key positions.

While commending the governor’s development efforts, the ward leaders appealed for the approval and construction of Oseji Road in Idumuje Unor, named after a late Supreme Court Justice from the community, who passed away in 2021.

Among the dignitaries present were Aniocha North Vice Chairman, Lady Nneka Dibia, SSA Orientation, Mr. Owen Junior Dibia, councillors, other appointees, and the entire PDP Ward 8 executives, led by Chairman Comrade Clement Chiazor.
