Obi Albert Nwoko
ASABA/Nigeria: The heat of the 2019 election is turning in a lot of endorsement, which some is real and some seems to be self endorsed.
The recent political games playing out in Delta state shows that groups, even traditional institutions are denying endorsing some announced aspirants.
The latest case is that of Idumuji-Ugboko in Aniocha Local Government Area in Delta state, where the Traditional Prime minister or Iyasele have come out not just to deny the endorsement of the Senator representing Delta North in National Assembly, Senator Peter Nwaoishi, by the Traditional Ruler of the town, but to state that the people have for now has no gazetted Traditional ruler, since the demise of the last King.
“ since the demise of Obi Albert Nwoko about two years ago, a traditional ruler has not been installed or any recognized by the Delta State Government”.
He said that the issue of who becomes the Obi of Idumuje-Ugboko has been a subject of litigation in the Law court.
Chief Ogwu made this clarification in a statement tagged, “Re: Idumuje Ugboko Monarch throws Weight behind Nwaoboshi,” signed by him and made available to cshowcasenews.com on Tuesday 22nd May 2018 at Asaba, Delta State.
“As the TRADITIONAL Prime Minister and 2nd in Command after the departed Obi Albert Nwoko, let me affirm that there is NO “MONARCH” in idumuje Ugboko since NONE has been installed, crowned and/or presented with a staff of office by Delta State Government or its proxies!,” Chief Ogwu Stated.
The Statement reads in whole:

Re: Idumuje Ugboko monarch throws weight behind Nwaoboshi
My attention has been drawn to news reports such as the above titled making the rounds that the Senator representing Delta North, Peter Nwaoboshi, visited the “Monarch” of Idumuje Ugboko, Justin Chukwunonso “1V” at his palace where he (the “monarch”), was said to have given the Senator “Royal blessings”, that he endorsed him on behalf of the Idumuje Ugboko people, in his quest to return to the red chambers, come 2019!
For the avoidance of doubt, let me state categorically, that since the mysterious passing on of Obi Albert Nwoko about 2 years ago, (the matter is still in court), there has been NO installation of ANY OBI to succeed Obi Albert Nwoko till date!
It is on record that NOBODY has been recognised or GAZETTED by the Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa administration either by verbal pronouncement or presentation of staff of office as OBI OF IDUMUJE Ugboko (or MONARCH) since the mysterious death of Albert Nwoko almost two years ago.
It is therefore misleading and an action that could lead to the breach of the relative peace in Idumuje Ugboko, for publications such as the above under reference to be circulated and cause to mislead the general public to facts which are in the public domain as to the true position of the Ugboko kingship!
As the TRADITIONAL Prime Minister and 2nd in Command after the departed Obi Albert Nwoko, let me affirm that there is NO “MONARCH” in idumuje Ugboko since NONE has been installed, crowned and/or presented with a staff of office by Delta State Government or its proxies!
I therefore discountenance the said publications and any others with the same subject matter, noting it to be false, malicious and capable of disrupting the peace of Idumuje Ugboko community! Please always crosscheck ur facts before going to press, my esteemed colleagues!
