UGBORODO/Nigeria: The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Warri South-West Constituency II, Andrew Igban, has commenced a grassroots campaign tour of communities across the constituency, engaging residents and stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections.

The three-day ward-to-ward exercise, which began on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, was designed to bring Igban’s campaign message closer to the electorate while providing an avenue for direct interaction with community members and party supporters.

Igban, through the Andrew Igban Project 2027, is campaigning under the theme, “A New Constituency. A New Opportunity. A Shared Purpose,” with “Consolidate, Unite, Include, Represent” as its campaign slogan.

The first phase of the tour took the candidate and his team to Madangho, Ajudiabo, Akpakpa and Ogidigben, where they met with residents and community stakeholders.

On the second day, the campaign train moved through Orere, Deghele, Sumuge, Bateren, Agogboro, Agokutu and Bobi/Olobe communities.

The three-day outreach concluded with visits to Ugborodo and Costain wards, giving the campaign team an opportunity to connect with communities spread across the riverine constituency.

Igban said the tour was intended to move beyond conventional campaign activities by creating opportunities for direct conversations with the people and listening to their concerns.

He said his political message was centred on unity, inclusion, credible representation, purposeful leadership and sustained community engagement, stressing the need for stronger communication between elected representatives and their constituents.

During the engagements, residents and community stakeholders also had the opportunity to raise issues affecting their communities and share their expectations ahead of the 2027 election.

The candidate’s team said the ward-to-ward tour formed part of its broader grassroots mobilisation strategy as the APC prepares for the election in Warri South-West Constituency II.

The campaign is expected to continue with further engagements with stakeholders and residents as the 2027 electoral season progresses.
