Asaba: The Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor, Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe has said that Gov Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, is very passionate about the overall development of the state as can be seen from the balanced spread of infrastructure development across the three senatorial districts; Delta North, Central and South.
Oghenesivbe in a statement urged the good people of Delta State to ignore the needless negative propaganda by some leaders and social media team of the major opposition political party in Delta State, the All Progressives Congress (APC}, adding that Okowa is a passionate and visionary leader.
“I make bold to say that governors that will emerge after May 29, 2023 in Delta State, will have to work extremely hard to sustain and improve on the enduring legacy which the SMART GOVERNOR of Delta State shall leave behind. c
“His passion is beyond partisan politics. The intimidating lists of infrastructure projects across the state attests to Gov Okowa’s unbiased and detribalized mindset which is now yielding quantifiable dividends of democracy for the good people of Delta State.
“The governor personally visits all projects sites, two or more times as possible to ensure that monies disbursed to contractors and consultants do not develop wings and fly away into private pockets. Sun or rain, the SMART GOVERNOR is on the move in smart wears, jumping through gutters and inspecting ongoing projects. Okowa is working!
“Gov Okowa tour project sites with his commissioners and at various points and places; he would stop, look around diligently and ask critical questions in line with the contract terms, specifications, materials used and the expected date of project commissioning.
“This approach do not give room for “abandoned projects” because contractors are paid as at when due so as to deliver projects for commissioning as planned. This leadership skills thus portrays Gov Okowa as a man who is determined and willing to leave a lasting legacy behind after his 8 years tenure as governor of Delta State.
“He note details from town hall meetings, personally write questions in perfect order and deal with each of them with precision and accuracy. He does not make vague and unrealistic promises, rather he would tell it as it is. ‘The STEP and YAGEP socioeconomic and poverty eradication programmes has so far provided thousands of jobs directly and indirectly to our Youths within two years and still counting. Gov Okowa is passionate about the prosperity of Deltans and he is currently talking to local and foreign investors to further grow the state economy,” the statement added.
“Forget the fake tears of APC DELTA social media amateur propagandists and you will discover that 98 roads projects with near 52 commissioned across the three Senatorial Districts in two years is unprecedented in the history of Delta State.
“Our moribund general hospitals and health centres across the state are receiving priority attention so also are the abandoned Technical Colleges; three of them ready while the remaining three are undergoing upgrade and massive renovation.
“Gov Okowa is focused and the next two years will amaze Deltans in terms of spread of development across the 25 LGAs. More projects have been accommodated in the 2017 budget and contractors shall fully mobilize to project sites across the three senatorial districts immediately after the rains are over.
