SAPELE/Nigeria: A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, High Chief Felix Anirah has charged President Mohammadu Buhari to take the path of honour, by resigning honourably to pave the way for more competent hand to take over the reins of government, havening failed in all front.
Chief Anirah noted the Buhari and APC led government have failed woefully on three premises; of anit-corruption, improve security and social welfare for which they were elected.
He added that three years of APC government, it’s clear to all Nigerians the security situation has become worse with Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen having a field day while corruption has taken the centre of the government.
Anirah, said that it’s sadden that Boko Haram abducted over 100 girls, in Government Girls Science and Technical College, Dapchi in Yobe state, while the government which thrives on propaganda told Nigerians as far back as December, 2015,it had “technically defeated” Boko haram after “downgrading” it.
He frowned at the failure of the government to tackle the Boko Haram and Herdsmen crisis head-on, haven borrow $1 billion to fight insurgency in the North East.
Anirah also lashed APC led Government , accusing it of hypocrisy noting that while the government accused past PDP government of corruption, recent Transparency International report revealed that corruption perception in Nigeria worsened between 2016 and 2017.
Recall that while Botswana leads the continent with the record of competent and largely corruption-free public administration, Nigeria ranks 32nd position in Africa out of 52 assessed countries in 2017.
He stated further that, “The task of leading Nigeria of 21st century is too complex for the likes of President Buhair who has no record of succeeding in any other business outside his military career, which was also characterized by poor service.
“Buhari and the APC have failed woefully on the premise for which it was elected into office; he should therefore take the path of honour by resigning like his brother President Jacob Zuma of South Africa did to pave the way for a more competent hand to take over the leadership of the country.
“If he fails to resign and save Nigerians from the agony they are going through at the moment, Nigerians should not hesitate to vote Buhari and the APC out office come 2019, because anything short of that, may plunged the nation into further agony and hardship.”
He stated also that the government has been found wanting in all front particularly its poor economic policies which plugged the nation into its worse recession, unchecked herdsmen killings of unarmed farmers and cases of official corruption in the presidency has left sour taste on our mouth.
He also task the Ex-Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, former Governor of Edo state, to channel his energy on how to rescue the APC sinking sheep rather than his recent ranting of his plan to assist Delta Apc to defeat, “our amiable and highly cerebral Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and PDP, in Delta State come 2019.”
He noted that unlike Edo state where Oshiomhole with the aid of federal might subverted the will of the people to install one of his stooges as governor, Delta state is a different ball game, because PDP is entrenched in Delta and more so, Governor Okowa’s performance will dwarf APC propaganda.
He challenge Oshiomhole not to back down on his ranting, because he and his party APC will suffer worse defeats in 2019 elections, both at the federal level and in Delta state.
He also task Oshiomhole to go back to complete the central hospital at Benin which he made the President to commission without any functional equipments, adding that; “those who leave in a glass house should not throw stone.”
